Our service offers a personalized psychosocial approach to help you make significant progress. Together, we will explore your concerns and develop strategies to enhance your well-being by drawing from one or a combination of evidence based therapies: ACT, DBT, CPT, Trauma Focused CBT & EMDR. For couples: Gottman Relationship Counselling.

QPS, SES (& SES volunteers) and Marine Rescue Workers are funded for 6 Psychological sessions through the Selfrefer Program available.

Current and former ADF members can receive fully funded mental health treatment through NLHC (mental health). This includes reservists who have at least one day of continuous full-time service (CFTS).
Medicare Rebates are available with a MHCP with a $45 gap fee.

As a highly experienced First Responder Counsellor I am delivering highly confidential and non-judgemental Psychological Support to Queensland Police, SES and SES Volunteers including Marine Resque Workers.
QPS, SES and Marine Rescue Workers are eligible up to 6 Free sessions and additional sessions requested if deemed appropriate.
All Selfrefer referrals will be prioritized and initial appointments can be arranged within the week as an in person visit or via Telehealth.

CPT Course Overview and
Participation
The course is delivered over 12 sessions. Can be done over 12 wks or intensely twice a wk over the course of 6 weeks through structured therapy sessions with take home assignments to allow and enforce practical application.
Essential Components of CPT includes;
education on PTSD along with a increased understanding of ones trauma impacts, symptoms and responses.
Identification and evaluation of faulty thinking will be challenged through Socratic questioning to aid with cognitive reconstructing to modify unhelpful thinking referred to as “stuck points.” to help facilitate accommodation to adjusting and processing of your thoughts, beliefs and feelings.
During the course you will learn to identify your. “stuck points”
You will be asked to write your own trauma Narrative which will allow you the space to reflect, redefine and contextualise your memories, and experience(s), making them more manageable, while also diminishing the painful emotions they carry.
CPT Course Objectives
Gain an understanding about PTSD and its impact of the trauma on thoughts and emotions (feelings)
Learn identify and examine unhelpful thinking patterns. Learn to challenge your thoughts and beliefs the while considering alternative perspectives & cultivating psychological flexibility.
Identify and work through “Stuck Points ”that are holding you back and exasperating your symptoms that are
counterproductive to your healing.
Help obtain your functional goals to improve overall Quality of life.
